Two goalsFast start, level pegging
There was no time to settle at Kenton. Jordan Clarke was in behind inside a minute, put through by a lovely slipped ball from Khalid Omer, and the Reds led 0–1. The Yellows answered by the fifth minute through Aayush Rathod, who powered through on a solo run and smashed the ball into the back of the net to make it 1–1.
Ilyas Coleman restored the Reds' lead on 12 minutes, smashing into the roof of the net after a well-worked move that Clarke helped create, making it 1–2. Tilly Ade levelled for the Yellows on 20, with David Chisholm setting him up, and it was 2–2.
Goals galore before the end
Jamil Mohammed produced a superb curling finish from distance on 42 minutes for 2–3, but the Yellows hit back almost at once. Toyosi Coker took a short corner from J J, dummied his way inside and smashed it home on 44 to make it 3–3.
Then came the decisive spell. Khalid Omer struck on 47 minutes to make it 3–4, and three minutes later he added another, an excellent finish into the bottom corner from Mohammed's pass, for 3–5. J J pulled one back on 53, set up by Samurai Gayle, to make it 4–5 and set up a tense finish, but the Reds held firm.
Fine margins
Both sides were evenly matched from start to finish. In the end, a handful of lovely Red finishes were enough to edge it.
