Blue storm

The Blue Bibs were out of the blocks quickly on Friday night. On 17 minutes Miras Silva picked out Andrew Whenman in a pocket of space, and he turned and smashed a shot in below the goalkeeper to make it 0–1.

Three minutes later it was deja vu: same combination, similar turn, similar finish, and Whenman's second made it 0–2. Taylor Payne added a third on 25 minutes, smashing home after a perfect cut back from Ranjan kumar Nallamuthu.

Whenman and Silva struck again a minute later for 0–4, and on 34 minutes an excellent Blues counter-attack ended with Payne finishing from Whenman's assist to make it 0–5.

Yellow fightback

The Yellow Bibs refused to fold. Makan Tarjan pulled one back straight from the restart at 34 minutes, set up by Korosh Rad, to make it 1–5. Rad then got on the scoresheet himself on 37 minutes, placing the ball into the corner after two blocked shots, for 2–5.

Four minutes later it was 3–5. Gulzer Khan chipped a lovely ball forward, Luke Chalmers took it down well and smashed it in, and the Blues had a game on their hands.

Blues close it out

Maz Pan settled it on 51 minutes, making it 3–6, and the Blue Bibs saw out the remainder to take the points in a goal-filled hour at Bannisters.
